What Will You Do?

  • Research new accounting pronouncements and identify opportunities to improve overall operational efficiency.
  • Identify data extraction requirements and develop scripting logic to fulfill requests using TOAD/SQL.
  • Work with Other Defense Organizations executing Army funds to extract Universe of Transactions.
  • Perform analysis of business processes and internal controls to identify risks.
  • Validate and/or recommend changes to data elements to meet reporting parameters.
  • Work with external and internal auditors to complete audit requests.
  • Document Concepts of Operations and recommended cost management improvements.
  • Review work products to ensure technical accuracy, deliverable quality, and overall value to client.
  • Provide suggestions to management leaders and external clients to improve client internal controls, accounting procedures, and financial statements.
  • Maintain relationships and communicate with key client personnel to understand business operations, processes, and functions.
  • Prepare presentations and briefings, and actively participate in client meetings and day-to-day interactions.
  • Actively participate in career development activities and technical training of staff.

What Do You Need to Succeed?

Minimum Qualifications

  • 6+ years of Department of Defense (DoD) and/or federal financial management experience.
  • Experience with Financial Improvement Audit Readiness (FIAR), United States Standard General Ledger (USSGL), OMB A-123, CFO Act, FMFIA, FFMIA, GAGAS (Yellow Book), and OMB Circulars.
  • Experience with the following data analytics software: Informatica PowerCenter/Developer v9, SQL, TOAD, and Oracle RMBD.
  • Experience with Erwin to develop data models. 
  • Professional services experience and/or experience supporting public sector clients.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, or Business Management.
  • Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, or Business Management AND/OR one or more of the following certifications: CPA, PMP, CGFM, CDFM, CISA.
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SAP HANA.
  • Experience with dashboard creation tools (e.q. Tableau).
  • SQL certification or Microsoft database management certification.
  • Previous experience supporting Army or DoD agencies.
